This wont be a long drawn out deal , I bought a few Tall Tines bows off here from from a great guy Manitoba Stickflinger. I have had the bows a few weeks now and I sure like the way they shoot , last week I took a nice fallow doe with the recurve. And now it was time for a buck , a friend asked if I wanted to go to his ranch for an 8point hunt. Me being the nice guy I am I said I could help out with this problem. So off we go on a cull deer hunt any 8point or 6point was to be shot.I had been here before and knew where a good scrape was last year and it was there still and being used also. Got my stand up yesterday afternoon and was in it an hour before light this morn , the bucks in the area have been pushing the doe's around somewhat so I was ready....

:coffee: Work can wait...I am readin' this here yarn from my man Sam!
I know you Sam! I await the story and npics..... :campfire:
Ok Im back had to make me a pot of coffee and get the pics loaded. As the sun started up I could see deer here and there milling around. Then right at good light some small bucks started running does around ( nothing hard but hard enough ). I saw 4 bucks and they all liked this one young doe , they would run her into the woods then back out in the field. As I watched them the sun came up bright and clear and it was nice to have the warm up cause it was cold. I heard some deer walking in the woods to my left as I turned I could see it was a nice tall 8point and he was on a b-line for my scrape. I stood up and got ready , he must have read the notes cause he just walked right in and went to town on the scrape...
Congrats Sam!
:campfire:
So here I stand Tall Tines in my hand with a big Simmons TreeShark on the end of my arrow and a cool buck not 15yds away. He would paw and scrape the ground then look up at the small bucks running the doe , he did the little leg rub pee pee in the scrape. He rubbed his glands all over the overhanging branch , did the whole deal for me. When he turned just a little away from me I hit full draw and held for several seconds and let her rip. The arrow flew true and went out the other side of him before he knew what was going on. He made about several bounds out and was looking back at the scrape , he is now about 35yds away. I had another arrow at full draw and was locked in on him , but then I saw the red just running out his chest so I let down....
Is this all? Been waiting for rest of story and photos or is this all there is? Sounds like a nice Buck to me.
He never went any farther just down It was over in seconds the big Shark did a job on him. I think he is a neat buck and Im proud to have him. So now Im gona get the Tall Tines longbow out and see what it can do for me.........

What a beautiful buck, classic Texas look to him. congrats!!! Anytime your friend needs volunteers to help remove such poor examples of the species let me know. :saywhat:
Looks like the Tall Tines are treating you well, Congrats!!
Great pics....nice story...short and to the point.
Well done!!!!!
Thanks guys , Im going out to warm up the longbow now ( Izzy , oh yea still have me some buck tags )
One of the great things about Texas we get 3 buck tags on our license to use in the different counties but also you can use management tags on MLD lands. So you can shoot a slew of bucks if you are hunting the right place. I might just break in the longbow on a doe or a hog tonight. Thanks again guys , good hunting.......

Yea he is a 9pt , I was never very good with math. They call it a cull and I call him mine , hope they have a few more with my name on them. I got the longbow out and it shoots great but Im gona stick with the recurve for now. It just puts em in there every time for me and I dont want to change up now.
