I thought Iposted this yesterday, but couldn't find it....sorry if it is a repeat...
Has anyone ever used some of the red or white reflective tape that you can buy to put on trailers to attach to your arrows so they are easier to find after a late evening or night shot? Say a 1/2" or so piece between the nock and feathers? Whacha think?
They sell reflective arrow wraps so I don't see why these wouldn't work as well. I actually used some reflective stickers last year but ordered wraps for this year.
I tried that exact thing probably 30 years ago with the white tape, for some reason it just dosn't work well, maybe the lights we were using weren't bright enough, but we used the same tape on tacks to mark trails and it worked great with the same lights!
I buy the white reflective stuff at Wally World that comes in a roll for $3-4. Cut to 6-7" and you have a perfect wrap. Fletching glues stick well.
I use the reflective arrow wraps from Onestringer...excellent price/product.
I had him apply a "crest" to the wrap and they look great...the sponsor area has his stuff listed with plenty of pics.
I have used a small 1/2" wide strip between nock and feathers for awhile and it has helped me find my arrow multiple times. I do it on all of my hunting arrows, no affect on flight.
Tradgang arrow wraps have a reflecive section.
I use the 3M auto reflective tape (silver). Just cut off a .5" piece and it gives you a little strip to put where you want. I wrap it between the nock and the feathers. Really helps find an arrow in low light with your flashlight.

The Trad Gang wraps are all reflrctive even on the printed section. As far as the reflective tape for trailers, That is real heavy and I would use more then the little piece between the nock and feathers. All you realy need is that little piece. You can use any wrap or cresting paint and add this little piece on the end and you are good to go
i started using that stuff for arrow wraps 15 years ago. it works great.
I had some scrap reflective vinyl from a sign shop that was too small for any of his uses... worked fine for me... lot lighter than the tape... bright too... and best of all a FREEBIE!!!
I use a little piece between my nock & feather, really shows up good...

I do the same about 1/2" from the bottom of the nock, then 12.5" of white wrap from the self adhesive vinyl for shelves.

I use a small strip at the nock end of the shaft and they have helped me find my arrows in the dark after hits and those one or two misses....or maybe it was three or four misses.
I have used left over scotch-lite material in the past but, I got a dozen tradgang wraps ( arrowwrapsunlimited ) and they are awsome. I will be using them on all my arrows from now on. Also the new LED flashlights work great with the reflective material.
