I just aquired a Ghost by Great Northern, and it fits me to a "T". I have never shot one that points as well. The grip is shallow, but fits my hand perfectly. I think this is the best I have ever shot. Who else makes this style recurve so that I can add more to my rack? Thanks.
I'm not sure what the ghost is like, But Sovereign makes a 50's style recurve you might look at. It's called the Trident.
Saxon, Ancient Spirits, Great Plains longcurve, Black Widow makes one(never could understand their model designations)Dick Boss,Mahaska, and a ton of others. Fact is, most custom makers will build you a low-wrist grip. I have a Bighorn being made at the moment.
ghost is among the best in that class IMHO..
Ancient spirits. Also the ghost was somwhat based on the thunderbird by Glen ST. charles. They have made a limited #er of those bows recently. It only comes in a 63 inch length though i believe.I had 2 ghosts and really liked them.I think the Anceient Spirits Kadiak is very very similar overall. Its light and streamlined with a relatively narrow limb. Also a 57 kodiak by Bear.Saxon Selkirk as well.
Fine old Bear bows from the mid 50's are available on auction sites and classifieds. I love the straight grips and sweet shooting nature of these old bows. Want 50's style... why not look to the originals?
I've had (and currently have) several peregrines from Robertson and Fox Breeds. The same idea. I love those bows too. They just seem to shoot really well for me.
