Hoping someone can give me some advice on arrow tuning. I got my predator classic recently and love it. Shooting my old arrows fine, but as I was running low bought a dozen 30 inch 3555 gold tip traditional xts with 3 x 5inch straight feathers. Tried both 100grain and 125 grain points. They aren't flying as well as I'd like, but the biggest issue is that the arrow rest and bottom hen feather are getting worn real fast, with pieces of feather sticking in the rest.
I moved the nock up but that still has not resolved the problem.
When I shoot 29.5 inch gold tip hunter 3555 with 3x4 inch feathers 100grain point everything is great.
And 29.5 inch gold tip hunter xts 5575 with 125 grain point are still good (not as good as hunters though)
Is this a spine issue? I looked it up in a spine calculator and it says it should be fine. Too much fletching?

And bow is 41 lbs at 28 inches. My draw was measured at 28 but may be a bit longer now.
My son shoots a Predator that is 42@ his draw of 28". He is shooting Gold Tip Traditionals, full length, with a 175 grain head. He gets perfect tears through paper and excellent broadhead flight.
Carbon arrows love some weight up front.
I would bet all of your arrows set up as described are too stiff. I know for sure they would be too stiff for my bow and it's 57# @ 29"
My 2 bows like an arrow with a little more than half the dynamic spine recommended by the calculator

From what you are saying mrjsl - sounds like the calculators may not be as reliable as I hoped. I probably need to suck it up and do some bareshaft tuning.
I shoot an original pittsley preditor and I would stay with the 100gr inserts. my bow being 50@28 I personally shot the 29" heritage 150's with 100grain brass inserts and 125 grain points and any fletch from 3" to 5 3/4".. I recently got a SBD string and found ti weakened that 150 spine so I bumped to the hertiage 250's with everything else left the same.
is there anyway you can shoot a bare shaft and PM me or post back here on what its doing
I forgot to put in my post that his arrows are 35-55 Gold Tips. Using three, five inch feathers, and the standard aluminum inserts.
Total weight around 415 grains if I remember.
I try to keep the weights of all my set-ups at or above 10 GPP.

Thanks again for the input everyone. So today I got a chance to bareshaft a bit - shooting at 10 and 20 yards. I'll put up a picture when I get it up on the computer. I couldn't see any real trends, it was a bit windy or my shooting was crap. Except that the bareshafts were always impacting with the tails way high. Nock point high?
From looking at the arrow on my rest if anything it seems low.
