ok been shooting trad since i was 13,im 36 now and i have taken every large and small game animal that is allowed by law here in indiana.so here is the last instalment of my quest.finaly had a good south wind to hunt this huge 8 i have been after for a 2 years.well got in my stand got everything situated and sat down and heard something coming towards me,then i hear voices, well here comes 5 horseback riders tresspassing.so i go off on them call the law and am mad as hell.so i climb down get in the buggy and wait for the cops, well as i waited i looked in our hayfield and seen something i have been after for 4 years.well i had to run down our lane and slip into a pine row and got everything in order and went on the stalk...hunkered down and made my way in the tall grass and watched my animal angle over the top of a little hill, after he did this i lightly ran to the bottom of the hill,i was now 15 yards from glory..i raised up drew and my game was quartering to me and i released..hit in front of the front leg and exited behind the oppisite leg,he spun and dropped.finally got my groundhog......all that i have left is a red fox.got every feathered, furred, that is allowed...havent killed every species of ducks but im ok with that, one mallard was enough....sorry so long winded...
Groundhogs are tough hunting!

Did you get the trespassers?

Nice work
Cool! I hope you got the trespasser thing straightened out.

Way to go.
I won't get started on horse back riders! They and sail boat enthusiasts have been the groups that were most annoying during my near 30-year career of wildlife conservation and public land management. Too many people in both groups that think they are entitled, extra special people. I can't even stand to look at a horse because of it.
Whoop, look like I got started?
Nice work on the whistle-pig!

Well that's one Ground hog that won't see his shadow come the end of winter... :biglaugh:
Do you use the pelt on those things for something? I wouldn't imagine they are much good for eating eh?
actually they are good to eat, this one is just done digging on our hayfield edge...
Great story! Nice animal.
