This is my first year with the recurve. I have only been out a few times on the ground and I am having trouble with what to do with my bow. Do the bow holders that are made for compounds work for recurves? Any other suggestions?
Most of the time I either have it across my lap or with the bottom limb tip on my toe and the bow held vertically. If I need to give my hand a break, this works:

I don't know about the compound holders. I think they might work, but I try to carry as little stuff as possible.
I'm shooting a recurve this year and use the iron bow holder you stick in the ground. The top portion is rubber coated, works pretty well so far this year.
On my tree stand I have a tool hook from the depot it is a clamp on but the also have a screw in
The top of my boot works for me while sitting. On the ground or in a stand.

I use a compound holder. I had to bend it a little but they work. It would be nice if a company would come up with a good traditional holder.
Its usually in My Left Hand..... :saywhat:
In a blind the bow rests against the support and the arrow against a tree. I've also added a Saunders Kwik Lok to the bow.

In a tree I have a long cup hook I screw into the tree to hold the bow.
I use the screw in bow hanger..mine has a folding arm.

:biglaugh: And I bet you hold the arrow on the shelf with your finger too.
