I have some heads I shot into sand for practice that have lost nearly all of their paint.
What paint do you recommend for painting them?
I have never painted my broadheads. To keep them from rusting,I have used Vaseline or Chapstick .
Any good metal paint should work.
Forget paint, use RIG gun grease to keep those broadheads from rusting and sharp.
If you want to darken the Steel, Boil in Logwood Chips,or the Tops from Summac.Same as the Trappers use.

We used to use black walnut shucks, the part that peels off the shell, on our traps. Makes them nice and black, but I'm not sure how necessary it is on broadheads. A sharpie marker will do about the same thing, then add some lubricant/protectant of some sort.
I repaint quite a few broadheads.I've had real good luck with Krylon Camo paint,as well as Hunter Specialties camo,green,tan,black etc..It is flat but fairly smooth and seems durable if you let it cure.
As far as logwood dye,I've boiled traps in it for 50 years and actually have two pots going right now.It wouldn't be my choice for broadheads.Paint them,it will protect your investment.I would rub them down with Scotchbrite and make sure they are clean and free from dust.Let them cure till they are close to odor free before shooting them.
