Do many of you have trouble with the Arrow, with Regular Judo, Skipping along the Ground?? I have been kicking a Duct Tape covered Styrofoam Ball around, and the Judo has a Tendency to NOT catch the Decently Tall Grass! The sucker likes to Skip a couple of times before it comes to rest.
Just wondered if anyone else has this problem, and how did ya remedy it? Do they still Make the Kondor Judos? The ones with the Longer Legs? I havent seen them offered in awhile.
I never had that problem with Zwickey Judos. I bought some similar ones, I can't recall the brand, that didn't have the small tip and the springs were a lot softer. They would skip!
Ace hex blunts seem to grab surprisingly well too.
Same here Shakes. But it does not mater with me .No mater whats on the arrow Im going to lose it.
out of my bows which are 60# and up, and on the front of a 500grn plus arrow, the Judo doesn't do much. mine will skip for 10 yards.
Judos also bend on rock impacts for me I've given them away, use bludgeons now.
cheers
They will all skip a little, especially if the ground is hard.
I have a fairly heavy draw weight and heavy arrows and must avoid rocks, and I NEVER shoot into old stumps or logs...the Judo will penetrate too much.

I hear you Bonebuster... I shot my share of "old stumps and logs" some of which looked rotten on the outside, only to find out the core was solid. Spent many a time digging Judo's of "old Stumps" :banghead:
If your arrows are only skipping a couple times and you're still finding them, seems to me that the judo is doing it's job. I've only lost one judo tipped arrow and that was in an area with thick ferns and leaf litter.
I haven't had a problem with the Judos yet. I enjoy shooting them.
Shakes, 3Rivers carries the Kondor
All I practice with ,mine skip a little on hard ground with short grass. But I still swear by em.
They may skipp some times but they don't get lost. Tall grass and they will grabb well.
Been shooting the same two judos now for 3 years in the yard at tennis balls and empty 2 liter bottles. Boy do they look rough, but still work great. Cannot believe the spring arms are still intact after all the abuse we have given them. We add enough gravels from the driveway to weight the empty 2 liter bottles so we can throw them a long ways and then shoot them all over the yard. Sounds awesome when that Zwickey Judo whaps that bottle !
We also shoot them in the woods sometimes but mainly use the 3 Rivers "Hammers". Love them too, awesome heads just not as good as a judo in deeper grass and leaves. Have had them want to burrow under depending on the grass and angles you are shooting. We are blessed with the huge selection of heads available to us fellers ! :coffee:
Shakes....
It's called exercise....Go et the Arrow.
Now have fun....
Mine skip a little on hard ground...but never more than a few yds.
Wish they came in heavier weights.
x2 on the heavier weights, but I put them in front of woodie weights. I have judos I have been shooting for years without losing them, and some are on their 3rd or 4th arrow.
I've had them skip a little, but definetly better then field points. I buy the glue ins, with aluminum/steel adapters and some lead shot they are easy to make whatever weight you want.
Would rather have the "skip" than the "burrow".
Amen to That iohkus!! Mike, youre right, gettin' My exercise is Never a Bad thing! :campfire:
