I'm planning a Elk hunt for 2013 if God wills and I'm going to order a new bow. A Howard Hill Big 5 I had one years ago it was to heavy and instead of letting Craig to take some weight off I sold it and I've missed it ever sense. Anyway I want a Hill style back quiver and thought someone could tell me who makes a good Hill style back quiver.
Thanks.
Tom
Nate Steen, HH archery, Mike's archery leather... those seem to be the top 3
david milller , (miller longbows) makes a great hill style back quiver. good heavy leather, built for the long haul!!
You can also try making one yourself. A sharp razor knife and a hole punch is about all you need for tools.

Bud, what weight leather do yoou use for the body and is it Veg. tanned?
6-7oz and yes, veg tanned with olive oil rubbed in (Scott Teaschner tip) and Fiebing's Aussie conditioner as a follow-up. I just made it last week and it's still soaking in the conditioner. It's now darker than this photo, but not by much.
I used Rob's pattern and made a few personal adjustments, like the 3" fold over. This piece was 26" tall with a 20" wide top and a 19" wide bottom. I used Dave Mitchell's advice on the bottom strap portion for the heavy lace quick strap adjustment.
The bottom piece is 6-7oz with a heavier piece of saddle skirting (10-11 oz) cut to fit snuggly in the bottom of the quiver for durability from peircing broadhead points.
Buds quivers are great. I am planning on buying some leather and begging Bud to assist me with my quiver build. Just a heads up brother Bud. :D
Looks Great Bud!! Fine Workmanship!! A Build-Along would be Awsome to see!! hint hint hint :goldtooth:
I saw a film w art young an old one 1920s he had a back quiver positioned more off his rear deltoid. And he whipped out the second arrow quickly. Which showed the real value of ashoulder quiver.
