Title: Snaro bird point
Post by: wapitirod on October 18, 2012, 12:43:00 AM
anyone use the Snaro, snare type point?  I was wondering how they would work on smaller game birds such as doves and quail and maybe grouse.

My experience is that they fly like crap!! They'll kill quail and doves no problem... if you can hit them.

For grouse I'd use a regular blunt or old broadhead... depending on whether they are Ruffs or Blues.

Killed a chuckar partridge with one years ago. It was the only one I hit and did kill it so not a lot of experience with them.

Dont shoot snaro point on the hight trees, she (it) will stay there forever   :help:
But it's a good point for small birds (doves ,quails)

I did that last dove season when I swung past my arrow "landing area" and got it stuck 40 feet up a tree.  Never could see the arrow.   :banghead:
