What is your favorite game to bowhunt, be it big, small, feathered or scaled? :campfire:
If I could only hunt one specie, it would have to be boars - lots of them, year round season, and great on the grill.
Hogs and rabbits.
I hunt the white tail almost exclusively. When younger, I just did not have the money to travel after other big game. Now that I am older, I no no longer desire to hunt much else.
Spot and stalk hog hunting..
Hogs, hands down!
You guys that get to hunt hogs have it made in the shade....
Whitetails. Turkeys run a close second. No hogs to hunt around here, though it sounds like fun.
Hogs again! They were made to spot and stalk. Can't wait until January!
Turkey..Turkey...Turkey
Whitetails
ELK ELK AND ELK
If we had them here in Wisconsin it would be pigs. I love to hunt deer and elk, but I think skwerls are more abundant and you can get multiple shots every day if you pursue them. Is there a real favorite ?
ChuckC
Caribou .. the best spot and stalk animal I have ever hunted. Fun Fun Fun :jumper: :jumper: :jumper:
Whitetails
Whitetails
Rabbits
Groundhogs
Whitetails
elk. nothing else even compares.
As far as the most enjoyable hunt it is with out a question javelina.Relaxed time, get to share my two sons company, they are moving at most all times of the day, get multiple stocking oppertunities(shots),easy to film each other stocking and shooting, small enough you dont have to kill your self packing meat out,fit several animals in the cooler (so meat storage is easyer), weather is generally nice, and we get to see diffrent country and critters then we get to see here in Colorado. Elk would be the biggest rush, but they are also usally the most work. And we have hunted elk for weeks and not seen one, let alone get a shot.So ya javelina get my vote
Whitetails
Mule deer is at the top of my list, but I love hunting everything with a bow.
Im with huntnmuleys, there is something magical about hunting elk and chasing bugles high in the mountains.
Bugling bull elk!
Coyotes. I also like hunting anything with a bow but coyotes are number one.
Javalina!
rabbits , hands down ...
Ruffed Grouse.
Cape and Asiatic buffalo. But cost, time and availability make deer the more frequent choice.
Allan
Hogs, i love chasing me some hogs. Its all year hunting to.
take a wild guess
;)
elk for me
spot and stalk mulies somewhere in the distance.
someday i'll get outta state to hunt whitetails in the rut. getting access to any whitetail property around here can be tricky.
Javelina in the Arizona desert. The beauty and strength of the land just make it the best place to wander that I know of.
Guy
Pigs , Deer , And Turkeys in that order.RC
ELK!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rosies, Rockies and Cascade Hybrids.
Elk in the high country.
SKWIRLS
Whatever is in season works for me.
Pronghorns, our population in North Dakota is still recovering from bad winters(no season) in the past. Our annual trips have been canceled the last few years and I REALLY miss NOT being able to chase them around the prairie!
My favorite hunt of all time was my mountain lion hunt - one of the most enjoyable, challenging, and rewarding experiences.
But since you cant do that every year - it just has to be Whitetails for me here in the east.
Whitetails were my first thought, but then I thought about the grouse I shot at yesterday morning. Then I also remembered the rabbits I chased last Monday. Or maybe the dozens of squirrels that have caused me to loose arrows these past weeks. Turkey season opens this weekend and I'm looking forward to that too. I can't decide. :dunno: I suppose whatever in season game animal that presents itself is my favorite at that particular time.
Pigs and bears. I go out of state at least 3 times a year to hunt them
I like hunting deer with a bow the best. Next up would be turkey, which I would also wager is the most coveted game in Florida.
I am a whitetail purist.
Elk! The country they live in is such an expression of the Glory of God! Their call fits their surroundings like nothing else in nature!
I love it all, just being in the woods is a thrill.
Hogs!
elk
then whitetail
but on the other hand I shoot more stumps than anything!
so my number one I guess is :archer2:
Whitetail... well all of them really. I just like hunting no matter what the critter I am chasing.
God Bless,
Nathan
I'd have to say whitetail but I haven't had a chance to go after elk or moose yet.
Elk.
Or what ever I have a tag to hunt.
Of all that I've chased so far......hogs.
Would love to add elk and moose to my list for comparison though!
I'm up for anything, but if forced to choose it will be hogs. Never been charged (friends have) but have had some tense moments. That element of danger as well as year round hunting and growing population have given them my top choice.
Stumps. They are easier to spot and stalk and don't jump the string as much as whitetails.
Whitetails, Hogs, turkeys, squirrels.
For pure fun, it's hard to beat squirrel hunting with a trad bow.
I'm hunting satisfaction. Favorite targets are whitetails and, uh, groundhogs.
Hogs and Turkeys equally fun to me! want to try those Elk someday though!!!
Elk!
Whitetails.
Do I really only have to pick one?
If we had hogs that would be #1 for sure, although Whitetail are a blast and what I do most I still prefer roaming around the woods looking for bunnies.
Bears!
Bears!
black bears.....but if I lived in Yukon or Maine I think I might enjoy chasing those big moose more...
got to be ELK !!!!
Whitetails, | can hunt them behind my house. Don't have to travel far. Second choice would be antelope!
Hogs and Speed Goats
Elk and Blacktail deer are equally fun for me.
Mule deer spot and stalk for myself hunting... I also LOVE being the caller for buddies on elk hunts!
Gona go with hogs cause I get to hunt them almost everyday. Elk for the 30 days I can in September , Bears in the spring , Whitetails when in season , I do like a good lope hunt. And turkey in the spring also , we also have a lot of crazy critters we can chase here in Tx also. dang I dont know just about anything on 4 legs..
,,,Sam,,,
Elk! Awesome animals in some of the most beautiful country out there. Bears as a close second.
Mule Deer, spot and stalk,Elk in the Foothills and Moose around the swamps, never turning down grouse or a big rooster Phesant.
WHITETAILS!
X2 for Whitetails!!!! Although they can smell you and move around, jump the string, etc., They taste much better than styrofoam.
Moose, without a doubt. Grouse of all kinds next!!
Whitetails...

The wonderful, adaptable, available, beautiful, honorable, delicious, fantastic, WHITETAIL!
My favorite would be elk, but I am able to hunt hogs more.
I love to hunt squirrels, lots of spotting, stalking and shooting. Plus, they're good eating.

Rabbits. Hunting them always brings back great memories of when I was young.

all you hog hunters out there- what are the favourite types of hogs and why
Always been whitetails for me but when it comes to fun and action,I like chasing squirrels.Never hunted hogs but from what Ive seen and heard that seems like a lot of fun.Someday.
Whitetails
For me it has to be 1. Whitetails and 2. Bears. Mainly because these animals are close to home and provide action on most days. I love big game hunting, small critters are practice for the big ones.
Elk for me
