I'm relatively new to the trad game, been shooting a Howath "Cavalier" and a Folsom "Cherokee" both recurves. I'd like to get a longbow to go with them.
I've stumbled across these three bows and I need to make an offer on them but have no idea where to start. I don't want to be insulting and kill the deal fast, but I don't want to get beaten up on the price either.
The Dick Palmer is a "Saxon" 70# longbow. The limbs tilt back a bit, just a few degrees but do so evenly and are are straight (I've never seen a longbow like that but again, I'm not that knowledgable)
There is also a Black Swan longbow "Gene Amadio" (sp?)on the riser and a Black Swan recurve neither has any details on them.
All three bows are from the 1980's and are in excellent shape.
As for the price ask him what he is looking for price wise, and like I always say after I make an offer I type in " No disrespect intended "
Tony
If you can flip them quick for a profit, might be a good deal. Most archers will never be proficient with 70#--at least not as proficient as they could be.
The bs bows I've shot from that era kicked like a mule. Admittedly I haven't shot that many of them, but I was shocked (no pun intended) to have a recurve jar me like that. The one's I tried were for sale (cheap). I haven't shot any of the older bs longbows.
If you don't want that heavy a bow, I might be interested in the Dick Palmer. Let me know if you deal on it, and maybe you and I can do business.
Thanks, Murray
I bailed on them
They want $75 each for the Palmers, turns out there are there are two, one 90# and one 70#
Both are lefties
If someone here wants them I could get em and mail em - least I can do for the help you all just gave me. Send me an E-mail
