I got into traditional archery to simplify my hunting. I love making as much of my own equipment as i can. I just took my second trad deer last night but it was the first one with a longbow i made. I love this stuff!

Thanks a bunch guys.
Simply awesome bro`....you built your own bow and took a Michigan deer with it!
I can`t say enough about this...I showed the picture to my boys and asked who they thought made the bow. They guessed a Northern Mist...I said "he built it himself" and it sparked an evening long conversation about how we could do that ourselves...where in our house we could do it and so on. So if your ears were burning last night...we were talking about you!
Congrats on the deer and your accomplishments...a finer trophy there has never been. :campfire:
Bonebuster,
I'm glad that i inspired some conversation in your family about making bows. It's not that hard and it gives you another excuse to hang out on this site. Bowyer's bench is a wealth of info.
The bow is a 69"and 58@30 hill style longbow with just a touch of stringfollow. It is modeled after a HH Wesley Special with. 008" taper per inch and narrow limbs. It is the lightest physical weight bow i have ever picked up. It is spalted sycamore veneer over bamboo core. Tiger myrtle riser and asian water buffalo tip overlays.

Like most things i've made , from the quiver to the armguard to the string, it's not perfect but i'm pleased with how it turned out.
Beautiful bow!!!!
Cool, well done....... Fine looking bow also! :clapper:
