Shooting a Bob Lee 54# @28" takedown longbow, wondering what your GT arrow setups are.I have used the 35/55 and the 55/75 as well.Useing a 175 Simmons tigershark, and 50 grain insert, seems the 35/55 work the best even though they should be way too weak. What are your GT arrow setups? My draw length is right at 28",thanks
I am shooting 3555s with a 50 gr. insert and 150 gr. points out of a 49# Big Jim Buffalo. They seem to do good but I am wanting to add more weight up front. How do you like those Tigersharks? I just ordered some to try.
I have the 175 screw in and they fly really good,a little better than my field tips actually.Have not killed a deer with them yet though. How long are your arrows, our setups are similar. My arrows are 29.5".
I shoot a 3555 with 100 grain brass insert, and 145 or 150 BH's out of a few different 45#-48# bows,(I draw 27").
i shoot 55/75 with 100gr insert and 250gr point out of my 54#@28" bob lee recurve.
I shoot 35/55's at 29.5" bop, with 300 grains up front out of my 58" super shrew long bow at about 49 lbs. at my 27.25" draw length. Bare shafts fly perfect!
I shoot a full lenth GT 55/75 with a 50gr brass weight and a 250 gr VPA three blade out of my Bushbow. I draw 32".
My GT's are 29" 55/75 stock insertss... was shooting a 200 grain point, But its to stiff for my setup so I just ordered 100 grain inserts and they should be pretty close after that.
Bow is 56lb pronghorn longbow.
For my 50# bows I have 29.5 inch 3555 shaft, 100 grain insert and 125 grain tip. D-shape bow
55# bows is 31.5 inch 7595 shaft, 100 grain insert and 125 grain tip. Reflex/deflex hybrids.
Full length 7595 blems with 100gr insert and 265 gr tip.
Specs on my bow are seen below. My bare shafts fly great.
For my 47# Sky Hawk mine are:
Full Length Blemished 35/55's
125gr. Woodsmans
40gr. insert with a 1.5" piece of 2117 as a footer.
Painted with pink Krylon for the crown & then a red crest then fletched with 3 5" Turkey feathers.
Total weight is 472gr.
Full lenght 5575 w/ 250 gr on front from my 50# at 28" Zipper SXT recurve. Drawn 29-1/2".
I shoot 28" 3555s or 5575s aluminum inserts 100 grain steel screw in glue ons with 125 woodsmans up front. 3555s weigh 505 grains. 5575s weigh 560 grains and are footed an inch, both set ups fly great or me depending on wether i want to shoot a little more weight or shoot a little flatter
5575 camo blems, 29 1/8", 200gr pt, standard insert,500gr total, bareshaft nice out of my Slynx drawn 50@28"
I use 35/55 cut to 29in with50 grain inserts. I use 145 grain pts. My bow is a Wes Wallace Royal, 55lb. at 28in.
This setup works in my Bear takedown as well. Same specs as the Wallace.
That said I like Axis 500 cut to 29in. with 100 grain inserts. I use 145 points and heads. I do like the deeper penetration of the skinny shafts.
53@28 Blackwidow CHX I draw 26.5 55-75 28" long 100gr brass insert 125gr head. Widow

29"
Thanks for all the reply's,now I have a good idea which way to go with my setup.
I cut my GT 35/55 arrows to 28 3/4" BOP. Use the 50 grain insert with 175 grain points. They seem to fly out of every one of my 45-50# longbows and recurves.

Entrada 400's, cut 29.5" BOP with aluminum insert, 50gr weight and 200gr ace standard. Also 2gr/in weight tube. Arrow weight 565gr.
GT Trad 3555 with 125 Snuffers and 100gr brass inserts. Fire like darts from my 50@28 Samick at my 27" draw. Planning on switching to 150gr Simmons Interceptors with 75gr inserts, adjusting the length to tune them to my 50@27 Dale Dye.
