I am a still hunter for ALL types of game from Turkey- B.Bear. I need a GOOD portable chair/seat I can use to hunt off the ground. What do you like?
If you have trees around, I like the Hammock Seat.
Hunters Smart seat from Vermont or Waldrop pac-seat.......2 of the best! IMHO!!
I like my Summit portable, but as mentioned before, you need a tree to tie onto.
I go between a Torges seat, knee pads and a Ameristep swivel stool.
The swivel seat has adjustable legs that are capable of some pretty steep inclines and don't require a tree. I take that for longer sits in mostly pre determined spots.
I like the Torges seat for scouting and squirrel hunts mostly but take it some in deer season.
Knee pads are my favorite way to ground hunt. My profile is smaller and I like shooting from that position. I can feel hidden with vey little cover this way.

Homemade torges or a 12x18 piece of 1.5" thick animal crate foam. I cut the foam to fit into the back of my rucksack. Works as a stiffener until i need it and keeps my butt warm.
Don't waste your money on a huntmore 360, Ihave one sitting in the corner thats been there almost 2 years because I don't think I should have to dismantel and rebuild there mistakes to make it work somewhat right and then do matinenece to it throughout the year. It was sold to me by them as matinence free and silent. neither of which it turned out to be. So save yourself the $200. For the price I paid for it, it needs to fix it's self.
I second the Waldrop PAC Seat. Best all around seat. There's a guy selling one in the classified for a great price.
for hanging on a tree it's hard to beat the "Millenium Tree Seat" for comfort and portability... it's light weight, but a little bulky.
You can have it hanging on a tree in seconds and sit all day in complete comfort if that's what you want to do.
I actually use the seat of a Lone Wolf climber (not the sit and climb); pack it in with the strap like a bandolero and can still hold my bow and side quiver when getting into or out of a place. Like a Torges seat but already made. I did put a nicer thicker pad on it; very comfortable.
I have a Double Bull 3-leg seat that I find very comfortable and usable. There are similar seats for less money, but they aren't nearly as well made as the Double Bull.
Double Bull here too. I can sit in it for hours.
I'm going to purchase a Millenium for those times I can use it.
X 3 on the double bull, the extra lumbar padding makes it nice for long sits.
I have been using the Ground Hunter Seat from Big Jim very portable, it does require tree to be setup! Works great if you have multiple spots that you hunt!I usually carry a foam pad to more comfort to the seat pad!
I have several.. I like the Summit Trophy seat for attaching too a tree,, The DB in brush, and will hang my LW Assault at ground level for really rough terrain
The Millenium tree seat is incredibly comfortable. I bought two last year (one for Dad) for $19.95 each! Yep, I could'nt believe it either. :jumper:
