I haven't seen this topic for a while. I'm looking for a new custom armguard source. For some armguards become very personal reflections of personality, passion, craftsmanship. Let's see whatcha got and some details.
I use a cheapo calf-hair one. Wyoming Wildlife Artistry has beautiful ones. Soon, I'll get a whole set of matching leather accessories for my bow made.
wyoming wildlife artistry
Scott has some amazing stuff
Wyoming Wildlife x3! Comfort, function, looks, and well-built. You get what you pay for.
Any pics of what you have from WW?
It is one on the website:

Mine is like bottom row far left. Well made, with soft leather backing - saddle quality stuff.
Sunset Hill, English bridle leather. It was a very unexpected gift, that is highly functional.
My wife got me one that was hand carved with a gryphon on it. The leather carving identically matches a tattoo I have that has a lot of personal meaning. She researched and contacted this fellow in England that only does so many projects a year. Its absolutely beautiful and my most prized archery possession. I'll try to get a picture of it later.
I have an MAL (Mikes Archery Leather, sponsor here) that Mike gave my when he was doing the once a month drawing here on Trad Gang. It has been my favorite for several years.
I checked out the Wyoming Wildlife armgaurds at Compton...amazing quality, but kinda pricey. They seem to be worth the money though.
I have an old "Myan Leathers" been shooting it for about 20 years. Best I have ever used. Simple and classy looking. I have no idea where they are from but I have not been able to track them down since I bought mine.
CTT
I didn't shoot with an armguard for years, and then I got another Hill bow, which whacked me a few times before I found my old armguard that I got from Rocky Miller (Heritage Archery) in the 1980s. Now it is back on my arm whenever I'm shooting.
If I was in the market for a new armguard, I would look at the ones at Rocky Mt. Specialties (sponsor here). I was there last week, and they have some really nice ones that are reasonably priced.
I never wore one too much, but I like my knife/arm guard combo from Tim Roberts. Built tough and I don't think about it being on.
I make my own, Give it a try its fun and you can make it as personal as you like.

howdy all, I don't have a special guard, just an old camo hand me down, but have been wanting to find a real nice one, one of the things I love about this site is all the great resources and ideas on making your own. Wyoming wildlife artistry has some real beaut's, but I really like the idea of making my own, wtpops yours turned out great!
Mikes Archery Leather makes some very nice armguards that are very reasonable too.
I love mine!
Also Farr West makes some very nice pieces with knives built in...check them out!
Both guys are sponsors!
Another vote for MAL... Best hunting arm guard I've ever used.
Art Vincent(Cedar Ridge Leather Works) is an artist with leather and a TG sponsor. He has custom made armguards and knife sheaths for me in the past. Look for his ad in Traditional Bowhunter magazine. Beautiful work, functional and affordable.
Forgot his screen name, but a member here made me a nice guard/quiver combo.

Just finished one today. This was a trial. My next one will be for a smaller archer :)

Very nice wtpops. I have a buffalo armguard made by that fellow that made Turkey Creek longbows. It has two pieces of elk horn with two stretch bungies. Fast to put on and effective.
Best deal: Mike's Archery Leather
Best: Wyoming Wildlife Artistry

It's not a "custom" but they are very well made and amazingly comfortable. Look at the Buffalo Hill Style from American Leather. They are a sponsor. I love mine.
Wyoming Wildlife x4! Comfort, function, looks, and well-built. You get what you pay for.
I use one of Mike's as well. Very functional, not fancy, but just what I wanted and I haven't been dissapointed.

Best I've had is the one I got from Wyoming Wildlife Artistry. Fabulous workmanship, it never occurred to me that somebody made such a nice guard until I had it in my hands.
