summer heat is finally here. A tree guy who watches for osage trees for me called Wednesday to say he had a good one. He was right so I had to take it. He had another that he was going to cut the next day but I talked him into waiting for it to cool abit. I split her out last week and started removing bark and sapwood today. Man was it hot. 105 heat index. Am going to try and show some pictures. This is new for me so hope it works. keith

That's a nice stack of logs there! Looks like plenty of work there to keep a guy out of trouble ;) Have fun with them! Cheers, Matt
You bowyers from Mo are nuts. Here in Ohio we wait until it snows to do stuff like that. ;)
Nice pics Keith, that's a good pile of wood.Looks like some good rings in there from that end view picture.Sure ain't wood splitting weather is it...
Man, It's hot as hell here in PA, and worst where you guys are. IS IT FALL YET????
PS NICE WOOD!!
yes it is hot. I'm just glad my tree guy agreed to wait before cutting the other tree. I think two would have killed me. keith
Sympathy's on the heat Keith but envious of the wood. Looks like you will have enough to keep you busy for some time.
I try not to say this to the guys, but you got some nice wood there!
You're going to need a bigger paint brush though!!
Hey, its free wood!
Hey Keith, good job, we were just talking about tree guys and what they have when they call, looks like this one was worth the trouble.

It warms my heart to actually see someone treating osage properly, shellac, shellac and more shellac,no wood glue or painted ends. You have a nice piggy back stave resting in the piece you shellaced.
