Title: Gluing side plate on ??
Post by: Tyler C. Moore on October 09, 2012, 09:55:00 PM
One of my zipper sxt risers just does not like to hold a side-plate on. No matter the sticky type they peel off.

Is it safe to use a product like Barge Cement to adhere it on, or will that damage the finish of my riser?

thanks

Barge cement or contact cement works fine

And it can be cleaned up easily if removed ?

Yes, but the original Barge Cement was easier to remove than the stuff in the blue tube.

Barge will clean off very easily without harming the finish; at least it hasn't on my Pronghorn, or several older Bear and Damon Howatt recurves.

Weldwood contact cement, will hold it also, and when its time to replace it it just rubs off with a finger. No finish damage. thats been my experience.

Be sure to clean the area on the riser with a little rubbing alcohol before gluing, same for the peel and stick.

I've been using Scotch double sided outdoor mounting tape with good results.
