Not quite as much meat as a big bull, but tastes pretty good. Killed this spruce grouse with a 57# at 26" longbow that I made about 10 years ago..........I gave it to my son but borrowed it back for this season :D
We hunted 4 days without seeing a single moose :( , still a late season hunt yet to come, so I may be able to fill the moose tag and the freezer later.
Cheers from the great white north.
Darcy :)

Good shootin Darcy! Thats exactly what I have gotten on my moose hunt too. 1 spruce grouse. Way easier to pack out. I have two more mornings of archery only and then Oct 20-26 to try for a bull here in BC. Bob
Good shooting Darcy! I really like your shirt/jacket...Very nice colors in it...Hope it's o.k. to ask what make it is? Thanks

Very nice!!
Was quite a bit easier to pack that one out! Nice picture!
nice bird, keep after the moose. I was able to call in 5 bulls earlier this week, waited quietly in spots with good hearing potential, once I heard a moose in the brush, aggressively raking. Then once they started to respond, it was game on with grunts etc. Never had 1 bull come to a cow calling sequence, used a cow call to bring 1 into 3 yards once he responded to the raking, too close and no shot. Pretty fun though. Last year we couldnt get a bull to come to a call. A gentleman from Seattle whacked one at 15 yards with his Caribow.

Thanks, I made the Jacket myself, cost me about 40 bucks worth of wool fabrick and a couple days of cutting and sewing. I am gonna make another one in a different color when I get around to it.
Thanks for the replys everyone.
Darcy
Nice shootin'!
DARCY, I had the same luck moose hunting last month except I saw a couple of cow moose.

Great pic Bob!
I managed to get three chickens over the 4 day hunt..........but I had to take a pic of that one because I shot it at about 25 yards and a 45 degree angle up a spruce tree. Twas a beautifull thing. I might have used all my luck up at once on that shot though :bigsmyl:

That was the third bird I got out of I don't remember. I lost 2 cedar arrows with judo tips. I had a great time while I was there hunting and fishing with my son who just got back from Afghanistan a couple of months ago.

Grayling on a fly rod. This thread nails 3 things on my bucket list!
Way to go Darcy!
