Does anyone have any suggestions or opinions about the Hoyt Dorado? I've shot the buffalo, and it doesn't seem like there is much of a difference between the two online. The other option I was considering was getting more of a competition hoyt riser and limbs.

The risers are very similar, however the Dorado riser can easily be configured to accept standard ILF or DAS limbs; by simply switching out the bushings.
I like the small riser, which helps me prevent torquing the bow too much. The weight is perfect to; if you like a bit of extra mass. The first thing I usually do is to remove the stock limbs, which are just o.k.; and upgrade them with a little better class limb set. This turns this rig into a real gem!

Test fired one. Not a recurve guy, but this bow shot very well. Wouldn't have a problem hunting with one.

I love the grip of the dorado I'm more of a low wrist guy and have the 180 grip on both of my dorado risers. Also as said before you can easily switch over any ilf limb with the conversion kit to fit the dorado.
I have one with short limbs and one with med limbs in different weights

I love my Dorado, it's fast but needed a little lovin' to make it hunting quiet. :archer2:

Thanks guys! What kind of modifications would you suggest making? I can't go spending too much money since I have the college student income level... :( I definitely want a bow that will perform tho!

On both of mine I run a brace height of 8.25" limb savers on the limbs ans cats whiskers on the string. I went with a 4 arrow Hoyt 2 piece quiver. He 6 had a bit more vibration ans noise.
