Everything is washed, sharp, organized, charged and ready to go. My shooting is as good as it has been all year and I got a sweet little spot picked out with plenty off sign on a white oak ridge.
I took tommorrow off from work so it's already a successful trip in my book! :D Going to try to sit all day. The weather looks like mid 60's for the high and projected wind in perfect.
A nice fat opening day doe would put a big smile on my face and recharge my empty freezer.
Anybody else not going to sleep much tonight?
Rob
I had surgery on my leg the other day. They yanked a varicose vein the size of a culvert pipe out of my left thigh, so I'm going to miss the first few days of the season. Hope to be in the woods by the end of the week, even if it means having to sit in a ground blind rather than a treestand. Yesterday I was on my feet a bit longer than I should have been and got dizzy, so I'm thinking being 15 feet up in a tree tomorrow would be a no-no.
Best of luck to all of you this season. Stay safe and have fun!
The white oaks seem to be very plentiful this year, several rubs among the oaks around my stand location. Rob,I am off tommorow as well and my anticipation is high. Good luck!
Rod

They are calling for rain now after 10am or so. May put a damper on the all day sit.

Iowa opener is tomorrow too and I usually don't go until Halloween or so but all this talk and pictures on other threads are making it difficult to stay home!
Good luck Hoosiers!
Good Luck Guys! Let us know how your first day turns out!
I work ALL night tonight and don't get off until 7 in the morning. It'll be the first time EVER that I will get an opening day opportunity! I've always had to work and then do an 8 hour turnaround every year....BUT NOT THIS YEAR!!!!
I've got everything ready to go for in the morning. Plan is to get off of work, quick shower and off to the back yard woods for my first ever opening day bowhunt. Sleep....Who needs sleep when there's this much excitement and adrenaline! Good luck Rob and to my other fellow Hoosiers.
Rob on a side note you gonna make it over here for the SIDH this year?
John, It depends on baby sitter and my wifes schedule. Won't know til mid week if I have to work either. I will let everyone know by Wed. hopefully.
Good luck bud!
Rob
I won't get to hunt 'til Thursday but I am stoked. Got out with the kids this past weekend for the opener. Lainey, my 11 yeard old, got her first deer. An 8 pointer in Parke Co. We got fresh meat for the hunt. As long as Lainey agrees to part with some of "her" meat :)
Hope you can make it Rob. See ya' all. Good luck!
