No where right now, had some hard times and had to sell just about everything I owned. I'm getting back on my feet now and should have a new Blacktail recurve in 2-3 months. I shoot in my back yard and to hunt I use the Public type II land. Never done the day lease thing but I plan on it soon for hogs with my 19 year old son.
I just found out yesterday that a good friend at work has 35 acres in Junction, TX. He is kicking the guys off the lease this year and moving there and said I was welcome to come hunt the place. Llano river runs through it and he says there are tons of deer and turkey. I'm pretty excited about that.

Shopped there many of times but never used the range. I live about a mile from the place.
I was looking into the club Nakohe posted, I noticed they also have land members can hunt on near Jacksboro as a guest for $25. I wonder what that is like?
MikeW, sent you a PM, would love too....raising a youngin and just cant afford it one right now. At 27 though, I am learning to appreciate the finer things in life, and Blacktails are one of those finer things. :notworthy: :notworthy:
I'll be in Texas (Richardson) for 2 weeks soon. Sure wish I could shoot or hunt something while I was there, but I don't want the hassle of transporting a bow on an airplane for a weekend hunt.
Any Traditional Archery must see's while I'm there?

Even a few carp and gar cruising the shorelines about half the year.
QuoteMike, we have some public land here in San Angelo that has a bunch of Jacks runnin' around. Cottontails too!
Does that mean Type II WMA land? I'd come that far to shoot some Jack's. I haven't bow fished since I was a kid but I loved it and I've been thinking about buying an inexpensive bow off **** for bow fishing. No lack of Gar or Carp around here.
San Antonio at the present. Transplant been here since 1992.
If you're a Texan once, you'll ALWAYS be a Texan; and all my college friends still call me "Tex" (well, at least the ones that are still around to do so). I'm Texas born and reared, and my family was there before it became Texas. My Great, Great Grandmother was a Caddo Indian. In fact, despite a lifetime of globe-hopping and the fact that I rarely get back "home", I'm still a Texas resident!
Often, in very remote areas of the African bush I've been asked by natives where I came from. Many times I would enounter a blank expression when I said "USA" or "America", but every time those had failed, and I then said "Texas", they ALWAYS knew where that was! Their usual reply was "Cowboy"! (In English, I might add!)

Morgan's Point Texas where the deer roam free and we can't shoot them (city limits). I have pope and young class deer that sleep in my lots next to the feeder. They just mill around and look at you. My wife saw a fawn born at about 20 yards this past spring. they're like pets.
