I had the pleasure of bidding this year on the St. Judes Auction and was lucky enough to win a hog hunt at the Bacon Strip. I had high hopes for harvesting a pig with the bow my daughter had picked out for me. It is a special bow with even more of a special meaning.
My daughter has been struggling with medical problems since she was 6, so just bidding on something for St. Judes was very important to me. When I had won the hunt at the bacon Strip, little did I know how it would have an effect on my life.
The hunt was hosted by Terry Green. I have spoken with Terry maybe a couple of times on the phone over the years and was looking foward to meeting him. Just with that little interaction, I knew we would be instant friends. I did not harvest a pig because My hunt was cut short due to my daughters medical needs that needed attention right away.
This year I was fortunate to harvest a whitetail with my daughters bow, and much to my suprise, Terry had a picture of that very special momunt in my life blown up and he sent it to me. Needless to say I was speechless as I try to fight the emotions back.
I have made friendships on Tradgang that will last a lifetime, and for those I thank God. I just want to say a BIG thank you to Terry for what he has given me. When that picture graces my wall, I will not only think about that special time in my life but a life long buddy!
Terry, looking foward to hunting together again real soon ;) :readit:

Richard was in camp with me for less than 24 hours, and yes, he seemed like an old hunting bud when he left.
Glad the pic made it unscathed....only seemed appropriate. :campfire:
