Title: Quiver that won't slide down when hunting
Post by: Coppertop on September 24, 2012, 03:36:00 PM
Has anyone used the "10-24 riser inserts on a short, longbow? I've used the selway slide-on and the kanati strap-on quivers and the arrows always get loose when hunting. It's driving me nuts. I'm thinking of drilling holes in my bow to fit a bolt on quiver. Any ideas? I hesitate to drill into my bow, but I think I'm just about there on running out of patience. Thanks. - Art
PS - How about the quikee quivers?

67# kanati longbow(60")

I've used Selways for years and never had a problem with them sliding down the limbs.  Mount them as far up the fadeouts as you can.  That makes for a tight fit, and they won't slip from there.  If your arrows are loose, perhaps you need a different side gripper on the lower bracket.  The standard size gripper is too big for carbon arrows. Using inserts on a short-risered longbow places the upper and lower components very close together and really fans out the arrows.

Kanati Angle Pro. I've owned 2 and they are a great quiver. Rock solid. I finally spent the money on one because I was having the same problems as you are.

Love my Great Northern strap on quiver.  Get some black hockey tape and secure your slide on quiver.

I had the same problem. My solution is that I got a couple of 3/4" O-rings and slid them over the limbs until they touch the quiver attachment points. No more slip, and I don't even know they're there.

The most solid attachment I have ever used is the Great Northern rubber straps. I even converted a Delta 4-Arrow quiver to that years ago and it's still going strong.

with out drilling greatnorthern strap on is the best on the market I love mine,if you drill I like the quickie it has sevral components that make it versitial.not much meat on a long bow I would go with a G.N strap on.

If using a strap on, put a strip of double sided sticky foam tape on the limb where you strap it on.  The tape won't mark the bow finish, removes easily, and quiver won't slide...tippit

I had that problem with the BOA strap on and got rid of it. I now use the Great Northern strap on on all my one piece bows with no problems.

My Thunderhorns don't slide down, nor does my Great Northern.

GN. Other styles I've used I would get as snug as possible then work down the fades toward the grip to get even tighter, they stay put. As for the arrow gripper letting shafts get loose, just wrap rubber bands between the individual slots to close any gapping issues...
