Tonight was my 4th night hunting with my WARF recurve. I have not touched my compund since April so this year was 100% trad for me. I shot a lot this summer and got some Snuffers from Keith Karr. Last night I had 4 does and 2 fawns at 25 yards but they did not come my way. Tonight I was in my stand 4 minutes and saw a doe and fawn coming. I did not have an arrow nocked or my shooting glove on. All I had time to do was nock an arrow and spin my hat around. The doe stopped at 16 yards and gave me a shot. At the shot I knew it was high but after she could not make it up the steep hill from the creek I knew I was in business. She got her footing and ran about 70 yards. I gave her a few minutes and with a little bit of work was able to find her. The high hit got both lungs but she did not bleed out a lot. To say I was pumped is an understatement. That was the first animal I have ever drawn back on and it was great to shoot and not have to worry about peeps and pins. Just pick a spot and let it fly. Thanks to everyone here for the help and time. After 3 years of shooting a trad bow, I am happy I had it with me tonight.

Congrats!!!! Good stuff!!!
Some of those high hits catch the big veins that carry blood to the back half of the deer... Not much blood, till you open the cavity and then...
Well done and congratulations!
There's nothing like the first.

Fantastic. I like the part about spinning your hat around. When the sun gets low and in our face that is always a part of our final preparation before a shot.
Nice work, Congrats!
Congratulations, the rest will come easier! Those heads you got from my buddy Keith Karr may have had some mojo on them, I have some of his heads and hunitng with them now. Would that be a Quinn Stallion you are using, they are my go to bow!

Congrats!!!!!
My bow is a Black Bear WARF riser with Black Max limbs. I draw about 50#. CE arrows taht are over spined so I put 100gr inserts in them with 125 Snuffers. I did not get a pass through but the arrow did fall out about 15 yards from the hit.
Congratulations! You stuck with it and it paid off!
That's Awesome, Congrats!

Fantastic!! Congrats!!
Nice,,,, I didn't read through everything but thats awesome using the snuffers! for some reason you don't hear much about them anymore so what was the bow weight and what was your impression of the pentetration, tissue damage, blood trail..
thanks T
Congrats!
On the Snuffers, I am happy with how sharp I can get them. I hit her high and there was still enough blood to not have to work to hard to find her. I think a lower hit would have left a ton of blood. I was a little shocked that the arrow was not stuck in the groud on the other side of her. She went 15 yards before it fell out. Again, this may be from the fact that I hit her high. From a 50# bow at 16 yards, I was happy with the results and will continue using them the rest of the season.
