Hey all,
I finially killed my first whitetail with my Mojostik. Ive never killed a deer on our archery opener for the season. Well its about time...and with my recurve at that! I hunted this morning and saw several does but nothing that was close enough...or what I was comfortable with anyway. I went to another farm this afternoon and saw absolutely nothing..except for what seemed like 1000 squirrels. I was getting ready to head home right before dark and heard something slipping up the trail in front of me. This little buck presented himself at 15 yards and i got a double lung and a complete passthrough with my zwickey eskimo and cedar arrow. I thought I had missed as he never ran. He just stepped forward about 10 steps and stood there until he fell over. WOW I am as exited as if i had shot a monster. Ive hunted with a wheel bow for over 20 years BUT nothing compares to this. My sons have been hounding me because we never shoot any small bucks...usually only does...or mature bucks...but I am absolutely tickled over this one. I figured the good Lord put this one there just for me. Sorry for the fuzzy pic...my cell phone was all we had. Go figure! :banghead:

Congrats.
I used to be like your sons and gave a lot of grief to my family for taking "small" bucks. I regret being a jerk. I only wish your buck will walk in front of me October 1st.
Great shot and deer.
Congratulations! That's one of the cool things about switching to trad gear - you get to do a "first" again, and there is nothing like it!

A fine opener indeed! Amaizing how a sharp head can zip through one and they casually respond as though they just heard the thump of the string. Congrats
