Fine buck.
Nice....
Heh....Well, there isn't much of a story with that one. I sat for a while, he walked out, I shot him, waited a while, and followed the trail to find him. Many of my hunts around here don't involve any great feats of strength, or any strength of feet, for that matter. There are so many people and everything is so parceled up that most of my weekday hunts are within sight and sound of roads, boats, people in their yards, etc. This one was. I do get to do some pretty knarley hiking/hunting on the weekends sometimes to get away from the crowd, but this one wasn't one of those.
The cool thing is, this is the first buck I've gotten with that ERC bow. I got some does with it last year, but this modest-but-tasty buck is the first I've got with it, so I'm pretty happy about that.
That's a great picture, love that bow, congratulations!

Excellent job!!
Great job!!RC
@Hot Hap: ERC is Eastern Red Cedar. It's the type of wood I used for that bow. It's called a cedar, but that's a misnomer as it's actually a juniper species. It's a really good bow wood but is pretty persnickity to work with. It's physically light and relatively weak in tension, but it's beautiful and really has good cast per pound of draw. I've made several decent bows but that one is my favorite by a long shot (yes, pun intended) so far.
That's a very nice picture!!!
Congratulations!
Great job !!!
Just getin ERC to cooperate and make a bow is a task but that harvest is icing on the cake!!!!!
Congratulations!!!!
