Title: Byron Ferguson's Heavy Hunter Carbon Shafts
Post by: bornagainbowhunter on September 18, 2012, 02:32:00 PM
Anybody used these yet?  I just traded for a 70# Robertson Purist and am searching for some heavy shafts.  These look good, but the price is anything but good.

I hate to spend a ton on some shafts and find out the break easily or split at the nock or some crazy thing like that.

Any other good/less expensive heavy shafts out there?

Thanks and God Bless,
Nathan

Hickory Wood would fit that bill much better than brittle carbon.
With a 160g head you'll be around 780g   :bigsmyl:

Can get crooked on ya, hardly ever brake, heat'em up and tweak'em right back. Allegheny Mountain Arrow Woods got some.

I'm wondering the same thing about the Heavy Hunters. They brag them up pretty good with that vid into the cement wall.

lots of good carbons out there and the heavy hunters are really good too.
Build them right and I'd put carbons up against any other shaft on the market for toughness. We already know they are very straight and consistant. With the heavy hunters, shouldn't have to wory about reinforcement either.

we cary them too.
thanks, bigjim

I don't think durability will be an issue if they can be shot into cement multiple times without busting. I would give them a go if I were you.
