I am thinking of buying a new bow,and am looking hard at either a Morrison ILF or a Dryad Ilf bow. I draw 27.5", and usually shoot about 55 pounds. I could get a 17" riser with short limbs and make a 58" bow, or I could get a 19" riser and short limbs to make a 60" bow, or a 15" rider with medium limbs for a 58" bow. I am intersted in the best performance I can get out of it. What say you?
Your bowyer would be the best source, however, I think any well-designed bow should give you optimum performance with any of those combos. My guess is that performance (speed) would be about the same.
With your draw, I'd choose the 15" riser with medium limbs since I think a little longer limb offers more comfort.
I talked to Jim Belcher about this same issue when I picked up a 15in Sky riser and even though I was insistant on wanting to shoot short limbs since I have a 27in draw he clearly stated that I should use mediums with that riser as it will draw smoother and give better performance with the shorter risers in my draw length.
