I shoot a Whisperstik Mojostik 44#@28. My draw is around 27.5 inches. I shoot Carbon express Heritage 250's. I believe they are 11gpi. My arrows are cut to 28 inches. and im practicing with 125gr field tips. So my total arrow weight is around 413grains. My question is...are my arrows to light in total weight for my bow? They are not shooting bad but im just wondering if I could get better performance. Im no expert, this is my first year at trad deer hunting. Shot fish and stumps with a trad bow but not deer, always been a wheels guy.
Thanks,
Kevin
Kevin,
I believe you are way overspined. I would try some 30" trad lites or Heritage 150's with 200 gr. up front.
If you've already got 125 gr. broadheads, get the AD Trad Lites and the 100 gr. inserts. That should get you really close to where you need to be.
Cutting just a little off carbon arrows can dramatically increase spine.
Hope this helps.
You are waaaay over spined. You would need about 350gr. up front to be in the ball park with those. That would give you a 700 gr. arrow.
A lighter spine and longer arrow would perform better for that setup. 10 gpp is fine if the spine is right.
Rob
You need to look for something around 500 to 600 spine.
CX 250 hava a spine of of 373 if memory is correct.
Ya Kevin there to stiff. Check out my set-up it's about what you need, I draw 29 in. so it would be about 44lbs.
