Whats the average hight you hunt from?
I hunt from 8 to 12 feet normally depending on the cover. Works fine for me just got to make your moves at the right time!
Around 10 feet.
about 20 ft
5000-9000 ft for deer. :D
I'm 5'3" on a good day so... ;)
For deer and elk usually between 8000-11,000 feet :biglaugh:
Depends on the tree and how much cover there is - anywhere between 8 - 25 feet.
Usually around 18'
Hunt public land and deer peg you under 18 feet most of the time so I don't chance it I go 20 +
I used to be one of those "if my nose aint bleeding it aint high enough"now I have common sense and hunt around 10'-15'max, and the deer look much bigger from that height.

Me too. Killed one of my best Bucks from about 6 or 7 feet one day.
about 12 ft stay scent free and still works for me
i usually hunted from about 20ft. but have started hunting about 12-15 max now. sometimes even 10
I don't like to get higher than 20ft, most of the time its in the 15ft range. I personally don't like the shot angle from a higher stand if the deer is close to my tree.

My pull-up rope is 25' long tied to my platform, when it starts to raise my bow I am about right unless the cover isn't to my liking. You have to adjust to the cover but I like 25 feet if it is possible.
Not sure. I usually use two sections on my ladder stand, so I guess about 8 or 10 feet.
Any where between 18 to 20 feet with a climber. Above the lowest branch with a hang on, unless it's a GA pine :) .
18' is my lowest stand height. I like to be pretty high. If I'm in a climber I'm at least 25' up! Fell out of one season before last at 16' and I just bounced and got back up but i scared every deer in the county off so i always use a harness. I say get as high as you're comfortable with. If you're scared cause you're too high you can't focus on the deer. Be safe!

15-20 feet
I like it around 17-20' but I'm in my early 60's now and I have a Marc Anthony ghillie so I have 2 incentives to stay on the ground. Much more versatile after you get accustomed to it.
10 to 12 ft is plenty if you have some cover. Also you have to have the correct wind. No way around the wind. Most important to me, personally, is the shot angle. The higher you go, the greater the difficulty of making an ethical shot. As hunters, we owe it to the animal to do our best, and that means double lung, and hopefully, the heart. Try different heights shooting at your 3D target and find out what will work. Once you know your limits, you will know in your heart when to let him walk, or when to let the arrow do its job.
Thanks guys I like to be 12 to15 feet. I like that angle.
12-20 depending on the lay of the land
I am very happy between 12 - 15'. Above that I do not care for the shot angle. Besides 15' and under feels safe to me!
I'm usually around 15 ft up, a few years back we found a stand on a friends property (he lets his other friends hunt there so it was one of theirs) and the thing was 30ft up...Holy cow that is a long ways up!
