So my shoulder is really bothering me. I hurt it at work and my job is pretty physical so there is no time to rest it. I was shooting a 58# longbow and I can a couple more times when it counts. But I have a 44# Northern Mist longbow that I can shoot. I'm bear hunting in 2 weeks and shooting 15 yards or less. Think that 44 pounder with 125 snuffers and a cedar will get the job done? I don't have any carbons are I am running out of time. What do you guys think? :scared:
I would do what I could to help the shoulder. 2 weeks is a long time.
I'm no bear expert or doctor but I would take a bunch of ibuprofin and hunt with the heavier bow. Thats just me.

The 44# bow will kill just as dead and less chance of hurting your shoulder more.
I have a 45# bow which I'd have no qualms about bear hunting with.
If you put the arrow in the kill zone, a 44# bow will easily kill a black bear.
Go with the 44# you will be fine as long as you hit where your aiming at. Have a great hunt
Sometimes we get caught up in our pleasures of today and go blind to the future consequences. If you are about to blow your shoulder, think of the 15# bow you are going to be working up to after surgery.
With the lighter bow you might consider a razor sharp 2 bladed head, maybe an Eskimo or something similar..
Take the 44 and enjoy the hunt
