Post by: RedShaft on September 08, 2012, 12:10:00 PM
i just got my SGT from Rocky Mountain Specialty Gear and these things are scary! they are built like a brick outhouse! if you are looking for a small game head i would seriously look into these and the guys at RMSG are great to deal with. i got the 175gr. cant wait to smash a critter with em.

Had a buddy that was skeptical on how well they would fly so I went out and made him this video.   :D

I love them.   Click pic to view.

Those are some well designed heads. One of the great things about them is they come in a variety of weights, glue on and screw in.I have been using the 200 gr glue on's.A devastating small game head.

i've broken one. it snapped at the beginning of the thread on a glancing blow on a small log after it landed short and skipped into it. didn't hit very hard at all. only explantion i can think of is that it wasn't screwed down tight and had enough play to allow the flex needed to snap the thread.

WOW! I'm amazed ANYONE has ever broken one, those things are so stout you could take a hammer to them. I love mine, stump shoot with them all of the time while I'm out hunting. Not only are they WAY more durable than Judo points, I think they do as good of a job of keeping your arrows visible in the grass as the Judo's do. I've always got two in my quiver (in case the leaf "gets away" on the first arrow)

I broke a 250 grain one yesterday at the threads, BUT, I just missed under a squirrel and hit a piece of flagstone - it also completely cracked a 50 grain brass insert in half and the front of my arrow.  I think these new 600 grain arras I worked up have pretty good momentum.      :D

Bivyhunter - agree that they do a good job keeping the arrow from burying and look pretty deadly.

Lost one, so now I'm down to one and hoping that I get a chance to see what it can do.
