Hello all, is Sunday hunting still prohibited in CT. I know the topic has been debated quit a bit over the last few years and didn't know if there had been any changes.
Thanks, Mike
Unfortunately yes, still prohibited. We'll be lucky if we can ever get the half hour after sunset. I have lost all hope of ever hunting on Sun. in this backassward state.

You got that right!
That's amazing to me. What is the reasoning?
keep fighting, if it can happen in Maryland it can happen anywhere.
Virginia too. We battle for it every year. Actually got closer this year than ever before. It failed to make it out of house legislative committee by 1 vote.
Cautiously optimistic for next year.

There is a HUGE anti hunting voice in CT and alot of them live on the "Gold coast" of CT.There's alot of old money down there.
One of the main arguements against it is that Sunday is the one day of the week that people can practice other outdoor pastimes without having to "worry" about hunters. This arguement holds no merrit what so ever,as the Sunday hunting would only be allowed on private land with permission.
Interesting. I was thinking it might have been church related....like the old blue laws.
Sounds silly to me. I guess common sense isn't so common.
In S.C we can only hunt on private land on Sunday.

It does stem from the blue laws. The state just leagalized buying booze on Sunday,so maybe Sunday hunting is next.

Nothing like have a celebratory beverage after a successful hunt!
The last bill had overwhelming bipartisan support, but the head of the environment committee is anti-hunting, so he never called it to the floor for a vote.
