Hey Everybody,
I've been trying to plan a hunt in Northern California (sonoma county) and been looking at various online services for topo maps.
DO any of you pay for one of these online services for digital maps then print your own? Or do you order maps some other way? It seems like there are a lot of benefits to some of these services but I'm not sure if they are worth the $$
I'm looking at places that are not so popular that you can get the maps at an outdoor recreation store..
Thanks for the help!
My forest fire fighting friend said to go to the FS office in the distict and ask for them-ensure they are the water resitent kind. You can go online and find them as well. Have not tried it yet, but intend to
I've bought most of mine at the USFS. But have downloaded maps and printed them also. Topomaps.com was were I got mine.

I used United State Geographic Survey (USGS)
I always get a custom map from mytopo.com of the areas I'm gonna hunt out west. Waterproof 24"x36" are $15-20.
x2 on the MyTopo.com site
I have MANY maps from them and I always get them quick and easy. On their site, you build you own map, so . . if your map takes parts from 3-7 USGS topo maps, so be it. . one quality map, one price.
