I was approached tonight by a man that said he had 2 bows that I might be interested in. He said that he used them years ago in Michigan and for years they have been kept in a closet. One is a Darton and the other is a Red Wing. Both are recurves.I try to pick up old bows just to display. This is a good friend and I said to make me a price. He won't do it because he said he didn't know what their worth. He wants me to pay whatever I think their worth. I know he needs the money and I really don't know what to give. The bows are in good shape and I will buy them. Just want to be fair. Any idea on the price from anyone.
Have no idea on prjce of the bows bud. But they might on the history forum on here. They would know. look into em and see then over pay a lil if ya can it'll make ya feel better bout the deal and helping your friend out good luck
Not sure about the Darton but I've bought several Bob Lee Red Wing Hunters and the price will vary with condition and age. The bows marked WING command premiums over those with AMF or HeadSki. Also the 52" bows seem to go slightly cheaper than the typical 58" bows. Prices generally go from $80-150 for typical bows and for the older bows with tiny tips the price can climb up to ~250. Post some pics if you can.

Just a thought, but if both bows and been kept in a closet, that means they were standing on end of a limb, and a really good chance they will have twisted limbs.
Thanks for the information. I haven't seen them yet. I certainly will check the limbs. He's bringing them by Saturday.He would probably take $25 and not say a word but I want to be fair with him. Money isn't the issue as much as treating a friend like I would want to be treated. Thankd
