Mudd, I like that too. I hope this thread doesn't fade away. I'd enjoy seeing an assortment of horse bows and information on the bowyers.

I used a bow stringer and a lot of caution.

This one is from Attila Archery.

When it comes to horse bows, I've always been partial to the Saluki line of horse bows.

The Ibex model has always caught my eye and it comes in 58", 60" and 62" lengths.

I have an Ibex.
It is un-real.

Has a 'let off' feeling, the exact opposite of stack.

And.

I always, always miss high and right when I pick it up for the first time in months.

James Parker (Huntworthyproductions) makes authentic Asiatic Horn Bows(aka horse bows). These bows are authentic to their original regin, types of horn, sinew, glues, finishes and methods. They are a bit pricey but if you are looking for the "real thing" check out James' bows.

Mine was a U-finish model from Atillasarchery.com

I just finished it. It's a #60 @ 33" I'm extremely happy with it and haven't looked crosseyed at my longbow for a month.

I'm using a leather thumbring I made, I ordered a brass one made by Grozer but it is on a slow boat from England.

Made a video.... before my horsebow arrived...

I call it a thumb locator, it just helps me keep my grip consistant.

Take a look at Grozer. They have all kind of different kinds and also the choise between base models, bio-composite and bio-composite extra.
Most of the time Grozer can deliver particular bows from stock! I shot and owned different bows from them and they are made very well and shoot like hell. I love their Assyrian: it looks very innocent, but shoots terrific! But remember: most of the horsebows do have a handshock.

Enjoy:  http://www.grozerarchery.com/index_m.htm
