Title: tuning problems Finally figured it out!!!
Post by: mountain lion on September 03, 2012, 07:11:00 PM
hey all, i just recently got me a bow from a fella here on trad gang and ive been trying to tune some arrow for it. well its a 60# bow so i shot some 500 i had through it and of course to weak. so i had a couple fo 400 laying around and still showed weak. ok well ive seen where some guys say there bows like heavy arrows. so i also had a few 340s laying around and they were still showing weak? even cut to 27" with a 125 grain point. ok now this dont make sense and now im starting to get mad and question everything im doing.     well its hotter than heck right now and my hands sweat alot and i noticed that when i came to full draw my hand would slide up and grip toward the shelf and also start to slide around the grip.     so i get to thinking and i go in the house and get me a light glove that i hunt with and i go out and shoot the bow again and EUREAKA!!! problem solved. the arrows started flying like they ared suppose to and the shot felt better and everything. dont you just like those little light bulb moment.

just make sure that arrow isnt too light for a 60# bow.  glad you got it worked out.     :)
