Awesome video, great shooting
Remarkable.
Amazing how small the bow handle looks in his hand.
Hey, If I can get any of y'all to volunteer to hold the apple for me, I'd like to try that William Tell shot (haha). That's crazy the things they could do and get away with back then!

Ron, I almost fell on the floor laughing after this short flim, Because of the ending... Also in this video, You see howard was shooting his slim and narrow longbows, But also shot a wide what looked to be osage longbow ?.. So to the guys out ther who said Hill, Never shot anything but slim and narrow bows, Look again (: But I like how Howard always had pretty helper's in all of his video's Makes me think of myself and all the ladies :saywhat: ...
Cody
Great find Cody! I've never seen that one.
Do you have the video of him at an indoor range bouncing ping pong balls? I saw that one 25 years ago and have never been able to locate it.
Tim
I believe that is the video that planted the seed for my interest in longbows/traditional archery. I am 41. When I was a kid in the early 80's there was some movie on TV one night my dad, some neighbor kids, and I were watching. It was on one of the major networks (ABC, CBS, or NBC) as that was the only stations we had. The movie ended about 10-15 minutes early and to fill the time they stuck this HH short film.. We were amazed. All of us shot compounds (what I call traditional compound as we used no sight, release, just bare bow) but I always wanted a longbow since. I finally scratch the itch 10-12 years ago when I saw some ad for HHA. Thanks for the memories. You don't know how often I have thought about that short film over the past 30+ years.
That video makes me want a Howard Hill style bow. Wow...very good shooting.
Do you all really think his bow is 172#'s????

Cody
Tim, I think the name of that one is "Points on Arrows"
Awesome thanks for sharing, what a great Archer, "The King"
Thank you Cody!
I love how they spoke about the ladies...lol Most definitely not politically correct any more.
God bless,Mudd
"Points on arrows". Is one of my favorite Howard Hill videos! I wish they could clean up the grainy footage and convert it to modern HD format to preserve it forever. Howard was an amazing shot with his longbow. Something i can always strive for. Thanks for posting this video Cody. I enjoyed it. ~Steve
Hey Bill........Your house is where I saw that video! That was a long time ago!
I hope you're doing well. We need to shoot together for old times sake. I'll start making "lots" of arrows!
Tim
AAAhh the good ole days...say the word, I'm ready.
That's it I'm calling PETA, people for the ethical treatment of apples

Great stuff, Cody. Never tire of watching HH vids, even if they are a bit 'old' with regard to equality etiquette. The man sure could shoot! Would like to see anything you might have on HH making his own arrows...always heard he was very particular with them.
I suppose at some point in time this and other segments will be available on DVD? Should be much better quality as it appears Cody took video of the film playing on a television/monitor... which would explain the grain and other issues.
Cool!

Charlie, Yes the video will be much better quality, As I'll have my friend who works with video and has the computer sitt up for the DVD, The Jerry Hill video I posted last summer was copyed the same as this video... But I just wanted to post this video, To show people, What they will getting to see in the video... Still a cool old H.Hill video.. Makes me think of watchin it on the old 16MM projecter's (as what Jerry told me after seeing this video)
Cody
Thanks! that was awesome footage Cody. He was a God among mortals...
So I gather you are taking these old videos, refurbishing them, putting them on DVD and selling them? I bought some on VHS from Jerry Hill in the late 80's or early 90's and the VHS is so old now I want to replace them. If you are selling them on DVD how do you get them?
I really enjoyed that video, thanks for sharing it with everyone.

Just be careful about advertising without being a sponsor. :readit:
Very cool video!!
Thanks Cody,
The quality of the print was very good; usually what's around is grainy.
I look forward to what else you might post.
Thanking you in advance for what's to come ....
ralph
Love his cheering Section and the way he snatches that bow.
I can't believe they went through with the William Tell shot.
