i assume the dial indicator/guage is calibrated to read alum/carbon spine at 26" since from what i have read they are to be read @ 28". Also can the guage be used as a reference to check which wood/alum/carbon are in the same spine range?
Ex. 51# wood = 1916 alum = 625 carbon? these numbers line up strait across the guage(close). Thanks Scott

Yes, the dial is calibrated for all materials as the spine tester is set up and can be used to compare shafting against each other as a result.

Most arrows, other than woods are not marked with the AMO spine. For AMO spine use 26" centers and a two pound weight. If you use the markings on most aluminum or carbon shafts (Example .400), multiply that number by .825 to get the AMO size. Easton uses 28" centers and their weight is less than two pounds, 1.92 lbs. if I remember correctly. Hope this helps. JIM
