I'm going to start tying my own servings on, but haven't done that since my compound days when I worked in a shop. What serving jigs do you guys like best, and what materials are most of you using now for your servings? It seems there is a pretty huge disperity between prices of the many serving materials that are available now.
It's tought to get my bow to a shop that won't want to hold it for a week or more just to get a serving on.
Probably the same serving jigs from back when are still good.
I like the newer serving materials, one I've used was called spectra ? These new servings do not wear out.
I'm using Fast-Flite braided serving on my low stretch strings.
I use 62XS or Halo serving on my D-97 strings. After trying a few serving jigs, I settled on the Cajun Archery jig. It has tensioning for the spool and at the front where the serving material passes between two disks. Thanks to Chad (LBR) for filling me in on setting it up for use.
