im new to trad shooting and was wondering, i bought a scythe bow and sort of set it up the best i know how. but the string hits my wrist all the way up by my hand. does anyone have specific brace height i should have? mine is in the realm of 5.5 "
Im not sure but Id just keep twisting it up a little at a time til it doesnt hit and the bow shoots at its best
I'm not familiar with the bow but you could start at 6.5" and go from there. A Flemish string will make it a bit easier too twist up.
Call the bowyer who made your bow and ask him what is the recommended brace height range.
If you can contact the bowyer that is the best.
Just for general info my BBI longbows I brace at 6 inches.
Recurves are usually 7 to 8 or more inches.
If your hitting your wrist and hand your off a lot.
thx for the feedback. does anyone know about hunting with wood arrows. should i shoot heavier than 125 and if so whats good. i like the single bevel broadheads but there all pretty heavy
Alot of these guys hunt with wood arrows Nate. But you need alot more info on your bow to get help. Length of draw, weight of bow at your draw, etc. Then they can guide you. rat'
