I recently purchased a couple SBD strings to replace my aging generic FF string on my longbow. I'm shooting a 56# @28 Raptor Signature longbow with a doug fir shaft and 160 grn points (650 grns total). I am using 80-85# spined shafts which were tuned perfectly for the old string. The SBD strings are so much faster that I'm spined at least 10# weak now. I need a test pack starting at 90# to get this straightened out. This is a great problem to have! Too much speed! The SBDs are super quiet too.
Welcome to the discovery of SBD strings! :) :)
I like them, too. Definitely noticed a difference on my Mowhawk LB.
Yep. That is my experience, too. SBD strings are TOP NOTCH.
Got my first one for my Widow. Great string. Quiet!

Just got mine over the weekend. Got the ultra for my 46# Fox recurve. I was a little leery because I ordered an SBD a year or two ago when they were still using D97 rather than the D10 they use now and I couldn't get that sucker to quit stretching. With a skinny strings you really have to make a lot of twists to make up any ground and I got to where I had it curled up like a spring and it was still too long.
Well, thought I'd give them another try, and this time I am very pleased. Brace height is staying put, it is quiet without any silencers and I can tell it is whipping my arrow quicker. No chrono proof, but I can definitely tell a difference. I think I'm going to try an SBD on my Blacktail and Rose Oak.
Waiting almost 3 weeks for mine. can't wait till they get here.
They are all that I use on my FF bows, great strings.
I don't have a SBD string, but I have went from using D97 to using D10 and I can tell that the D10 definitely does NOT stretch near as much as the D97.
