One arrow to the brain? Impressive!
Holy smokes were does the week go. Sorry about the delay guys I've been crazy busy this year I may have bit off more than I can chew.
Anyway this trip kinda started with a simple question." Have you ever tried blue shark? "I asked to my buddy Joe who owns the boat. His answer was no,and I commented that I didn't either and could not think of anyone who had.
Fast forward 2 weeks and I get a phone call and he asked me if I thought we could boat one with a bow. After a few moments I said that it was possible with the right equipment. His response was It's shark week the boat leaves at 2 am...... click.... This was at 9pm
Nothing like giving a guy a bit of a heads up.
:campfire:
now that is cool, congrats
Was it LIGHTS OUT with that hit?
Out to the man cave aka my barn. I managed to fasten together a broadhead that was more of a harpoon type head than a broadhead. It was in the neighborhood of 1600 grains that you could attach a steel leader to it was fitted to a glass shaft so that the glass shaft would fall out after the shot.Sorry I don,t have pics but will try to get some, head is on the boat still. The leader was attached to a pole and reel so the shark could be fought with a drag.
What we essentially did was chum the sharks up and had them literally bumping the boat.Lets face it a 1900 grain arrow had better be a close shot.It was about 5 feet away and 2 foot deep when I hit him.It was off to the races then.
His initial run was better than 300 yards we had to start the boat and gain some line back. The initial hit was at 130pm. It would be almost 3 hours before we saw color again. That fish was mad.We also had the drag set on the light side very unsure about penetration and the hit.Dam it happened fast.

My buddy Joe fighting the shark on the first run I was busy driving in high speed reverse.
Totally cool you guys!! :smileystooges:
THAT IS FRIGGING AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats,
Bisch
We spelled each other for the next couple of hours trying to get back to the leader.after a few stressful moments there was the leader in sight.
Getting ready for another shot.Only had solid gless shafts left with muzzy fish heads. We were all in at this point. The second arrow hit home and off to the races again.
This process continued for another hour. But ever time I stung him he was leaking and listing baaaaddddd.
OOOps not sure what happened there it's facing the right way on photo bucket.
anyway I'm to tired to figure that out right now.I shot four more arrows in that sharks head before he gave up the ghost.

Mike
Awesome story, I can only imagine the fight the Shark put up. Bet you were both worn out after getting that big guy in the boat.!
Awesome!! Nice job. Congrats!
Respect!!
Thanks guys I'm sorry I stopped the story last night, I'm having a few issues with my camera/sd card I am rally not sure whats going on. Kinda thinking salt water.
We did butcher the shark and gave a lot of it away in return for a fair assessment of the meat.As I type it's runs about 50% love/hate. There are very few it's ok.It appears that you like it or not.
I really do appreciate all the comments. This place is great.I do tend to lurk more than share an adventure. It,s the puter that pisses me off.I'm trying to embrace that demon.
Now it's off to the man cave I need to sharpen a few broad heads There is a NM bull that is a DBW Dead bull walking.......Stay tuned
That's one of the coolest things I've ever seen. That had to be a rush. Thanks for sharing your adventure with us!!!!
