I sure do!
Went scouting in my archery spot this afternoon about 30 miles from home. I must have seen 70 different elk beds from the last few days. I also found an elk skeleton. I really hope it wasn't killed by wolves.
I have come to the conclusion that Montana does not have rotten tree stumps. I ruined two arrows today on stumps, it sucks when you hit what you look at and the arrow breaks.
Oh, did I mention I saw some elk?
C'mon September 1st!
I'll be chasing rosies in 5 days, I'm getting pumped. First time with archery equipment since 04 and first time with a recurve in over a long time. Good Luck!
Glad your scouting went well, for the most part. I have to wait until Friday to do any scouting. Season opens Saturday in Colorado. A group of us are heading that way very early Thursday morning.
Good luck to all who are chasing Elk this fall with their bows!
Nope

Mabey in CO next week :)
10 days I will be in Colorado for my first time :goldtooth:
Good luck come September 1st. I'm hoping to get back after them tomorrow if the weather holds.
Can I come out?
I'm hitting the road to Colorado here in about a week and a half myself. Unfortunately, my hunting partner/father in law can't make it this year - he had a stroke, but is using hunting season as motivation for his therapy, so I'm driving alone from Maryland.
The drive out will be a piece of cake, anticipation has a way of doing that...now the trip back, I'm dreading all ready!
Anyway, be safe and good luck to you all.
I leave in 15 longgg days.....
Leaving September 9th for New Mexico Unit 17.
1st attempt with Traditional Bow
Good luck to everyone !!
Take care , Randy
Leaving Sept 6th for the flat tops! First time out with the longbow in hand. This will be my hunting partners first time ever so we are both pumped! Good luck everyone!

Saw about 60 elk while scouting a couple weeks ago and found this. Definately made by elk and active but what the heck is it? Worlds largest wallow, a mineral lick, what? I have never seen anything even close to this size. We are packing 4 miles in and this is right next to where I was going to camp. Think I will move camp a bit but I believe I will be hunting this site. Headed up the hill tomorrow, good luck all!
so jazzed for next week i can barely sleep!!
Season starts tomorrow. I'll be hunting unit 76 here close to home, should be good. I'll be hunting with the first custom recurve I ever owned, a 1987 55# custom Bighorn.

Just guessing but that almost looks like a spot the cattle lessee would have used to hold their animals for a couple days. Lots of cow poop in the area?
This bull is sooo fat...there's an even chance with my poor shooting that I might be able to hit it!
