I just heard Fred Eichler just got his last game Rockie Mountain Sheep for the Super Slam. If this is true then let me said Congrats Fred on a job well done. Can't wait to hear the Story.
  :campfire: :archer: :clapper:
awesome man nicely done
That is awesome. I know he wanted it for a long time I am glad to see he finally got there. Good for him.
In August? Man, I live in the wrong state.
I hope he did it with his curve. Congrats if he reads this.
I'm waiting for com-4-may-shun on this...Hopefully Mark Land will post on this or better yet Fred himself
sorry thats Stone sheep not Rockie mountain sheep. sorry for the typo
I was thinking Fred had a Stone and needed a Desert to complete his Slam?
 :clapper:

Next weekend is the Muzzy Stump Shoot. Michelle (his wife) thought he would be there this year. A number of guys on this site go to the Muzzy so I am sure that even if Fred isn't there Michelle will fill us in unless someone verify that now. Would be nice for him and I am sure he will appear to be at least a little excited when the camera is on him.
Where is the muzzy stump shoot?
I know the Stone was all he needed since he got the Desert last year. I am sure he would have used the recurve. Congrats buddy!
I thought that his slam is the first entirely with a recurve? Am I right?
Way to go Fred, your da man!
No he's not the first with a recurve, but he is second.
Its been so long, I may be wrong but I believe Paul Shafer got the slam completed in the 80s with trad equipment. If I'm wrong let me know.
Grant
Rick Duggan not sure of spelling got the slam with a recurve first, earlier this year 2007.
Yep, it's true, Fred finally got his Stone sheep and has his slam, he is the 2nd to do it with Trad equipment. He should be on his way back now and I am sure will post something about it, can't wait to see the pics and I hear it is a very big one! I also heard he camped out on top of the mountain for 30 hours, living with the sheep till he could get his shot. Knowing what he has and does go thru to hunt, I know that he earned it. Mark
Thats just awesome....if I was still in the Army I woulda said "Hoooah".
I don't think it is the first with a recurve. Didn't Paul Schafer do it with a curve? Not sure if he was the first, though.
Paul Schafer did not get the super slam of all North American big game animals. He was one of the first to achieve the slam of all four species of North American wild sheep and I think he was the first to get the sheep slam with traditional equipment.
WAY TO GO FRED!!!
EXCELLENT ACCOMPLISHMENT!
Could'nt have happened to a more dedicated, hard working guy!
:notworthy:

I don't think it really matters Who was first, but that He is in a group of ppl that did it and thats all that counts..... Again Congrats Fred....
I don't care if he's 31st...I've never been so involved in someone else's triumphs, Fred makes it feel like I'm there with him; through his story telling.
Hope he comes back with video too!
Thanks for all the "shared" hunts and Congratulations, Fred.
Congrat's Fred! :archer:

Nice job
I'm still trying to get my first kill with traditional equipment, much respect for anyone who can accomplish the Grand Slam, as well as having a camera man with you when doing it. Great job Fred. Whats next? Maybe the first person to do it twice?
