31 " pile driver shaft 340 250 up front shooting a recurve 57@30 shows a bit stiff with tail right but hits where i look at 25 yds. what do you think- good to go or not
If your bareshaft and fletched arrows group together then your close. Next, get you bareshaft, fletched shaft and your broad head shaft to group together. When they ALL group together it's time to hit the woods!
Why not put 300 grains up front and see what happens?
Bottom line - When a BH tipped shaft marks the same as the fletched shaft w/field points, then you may ascertain the set-up is good enough.
Typically, of my experience, bareshafts tuned 10 yards beyond my effective hunting range yield nice BH tipped arrow flight.
I'm shooting close to the same poundage except with 300gr. up front and they fly well. Another option if you want to keep 250gr. is to try a faster/(skinny) string and raise your brace height some to weaken the spine.
thanks for the comments should have got the 250 s ,. a skinny string would do it dont want 300 up front my 250 s at 580 are shootin good o well anyone want to buy some 340 pile drivers

Bingo!
It is quite irrevelvent where the bare shaft marks as long as the fletched shafts an BH shafts mark together.

I agree.... It has been my experience that if the bare shaft flys where you want then your BH shaft do as well.
I couldn't disagree more.....bareshaft tuning has nothing to do with orientation of the nock/angle of the shaft in the target. Who started this theory? I am seeing a lot these days. Bareshaft planing test is validated and works....if you need guidance, read how it works on OL's site www.bowmaker.net (http://www.bowmaker.net)
