Title: back quiver question
Post by: willfred219 on August 13, 2012, 10:21:00 AM
I have been wanting a nice leather back quiver for some time and have one ordered from Boggs leather. My question is, "on all day hunts how do you carry your, lunch, water, and such?" Do you use a fanny type pack or a hydration only type pack and place the quiver over? I am really looking forward to the quiver and hope I can use it while taking all the things I need with me.

A haversack like Fred Asbell makes is perfect for use with a back quiver. Just put your water and possibles in that.

I put my water in the quiver itself.  I tie the extra jacket on around the bottom of the strap where it ties into the quiver, and I carry the G.Fred Haversack for bino's, and extras.  Really good way of carrying all your gear.  God Blass

Bison Gear haversack.  Holds plenty for a long day and has straps on the bottom for attaching sweater, jacket, etc.

Have 2 fanny packs, large and small. Depends where and how long I'll be hunting. Both work great with my backquivers. Top 2 packs in the pic...

I have a large back quiver.  I put my lunch plastic bag and water right in the quiver.  When I made this quiver, it was so large, I called it my cargo quiver and I thought I would just use it when I was going to hunt all day.  It fit me so well and was so handy that I use it all the time.
