What do you guys like? Thanks. Bill
Don,t like quivers on bows,Its a back quiver for me.
Bow quivers are the best fit for me. I like great northern quivers.

I like a 2 arrow quiver on my bow, and carry extras in a back quiver.
my longbows were a kanati slimjim. like them alot on the longbows. not a fan of them on recurves so side quiver for them.
Bow Mate Elite.
I didn't want a bow quiver but just seemed the best for hunting so I put a Big Jim's on my Toelke whip and I'm liking it so far. Easy on and off and pretty light weight.
I've tried most styles, and my current favorite is a side quiver (Safari Tuff). I love the look of a traditional back quiver, but other options are better for me when I am hunting. When I'm stumping, I use a back quiver or a side quiver. I have used bow quivers over the years, and still do occasionally, but keep going back to the side quiver. I like the Big Jim quiver if I do use a bow quiver. Shedrock's quiver looks cool, but I need more arrows than him. And, if I wasn't quiver poor already, the Farr West Leather side quiver is about as cool looking as they come. Maybe I'm just fickle.
Great Northern on my Cari-Bow
Bow quiver works out best for me
I don't like bowquivers on a longbow. Longbows have such a low mass, I feel that the weight of a bowquiver just doesn't feel right on them.

Same here.
No bow quiver on a longbow for me..
Just doesn't seem fitting, lol..
I just can't seem to get myself to put a bow quiver on my Toelke Super D. It just doesn't seem right.
To each his own, but I think a bow quiver on a longbow is really out of place.

I use a slip on Selway or strap on Eagle's Flite on which I modify the lower arrow gripper to hold the arrows like a Selway.
Bow quiver for me. I like the added weight to help settle things down a little...
I have never liked a bow quiver on a longbow, as it just seems to screw up the balance. They are convenient, though.
That's for you to determine. Due to the increased weight, bow quivers actually make a couple of my lighter mass bows easier to shoot. Depending on the situation, I switch back and forth between bow mounted quivers and a bow mate elite.lol
Hy Hill bows dont like'em but my Shrews dont care at all, that little bit of weight steadies them a little too.
Eric
Kanati Pro bow quiver for my Kanati LB feels right for me. :)
I have a Toelke Whip that I have a Great northern quiver on and I like the feel with the quiver on. But you are just going to have to try it and see if you like the feel of the extra weight or not.
I shot a heavy 3 pc recurve for the last 14 years and just switched to a lightweight 1 piece longbow (centaur carbon elite). I find the additional mass of a quiver makes the bow easier to shoot for me. I have both 3 and 4 arrow EFA quivers but prefer the 4 arrow on it. They are small light quivers. To each there own.
I like a quiver on my longbow...I like the little extra weight and having my arrows tight to the bow makes walking through tight spots easier to manage.
I hate bow quivers on any bow. I love a bow quiver. :bigsmyl:
i've got a bow quiver on my Belcher Longhorn, haven't used a back quiver...
I'll throw away my bow before I shoot it without a bow quiver. Even Squanto liked a little bow weight to steady his shot.
I use an EFA 3-arrow quiver on my Mohawks and 21st century longbows. They are easy to take off and put back on if I decide to stay in one spot for awhile. I can't tell a difference in how the bows shoot with or without the quiver. If bad weather is expected, I'll use my arrowmaster.
After drooling for awhile I finally found a little Shrew Classic Hunter. It's the kind of lightweight bow that can benefit from having a lightweight quiver on it. The two together are a dream team.
What? Of course it was an EFA! :archer2:

I feel naked without my 3 arrow EFA. That's all I need. If I can't connect with 3 arrows, then I shouldn't be in the woods that day...tippit

Great northern strap on! Gotta have a quiver on my bow.
Jason
Tippit, that's my kind of setup. No frills, just the essentials, and great results. Nice bear!
I have one on my Pronghorn and like it but don't like it on my Shrew CH (it feels to big on the Shrew).
Personal preferences!
God bless,Mudd
To each his own. I personally prefer to hunt with an EFA strap on bow quiver attached to my long bow. Thinking seriously about ordering one of their new style quivers, just havn't seen one up close and personal as of yet. As for affecting arrow-flite, I have yet to see a noticable difference. With that said, I do not shoot 3-d with the quiver attached. :archer2:
I love bow quivers. Simple, quiet, and for western hunting where you are moving through country most of the time, they don't bug me like back and side quivers do. I use Selway slide-ons, but there are a bunch of nice ones out there. The Selway is dirt simple and I have one that has to be 20+ years old thats been abused, rained on, and baked in the sun but still going strong.
As already stated personal preferrence. For ME...
quiver on bow. rat'
I have an EFA quiver on my Liberty Contender LB. I like the little extra weight. Ken
Any quiver is a compromise. My longbows have worn GN strap on quivers for many years. They work best for me.

I can't believe these aren't everyone's answer. No other strap on can touch these with a 10 foot pole IMO. Light, sturdy, attractive.

Me either. A quiver on my longbows feels like it has a growth. They are convenient and I wish I liked them.
I can't agree with 2fletch more. All I have on my Shrew CH's are EFA lightweight quivers. They fit like a glove.
Wish I liked them, they are convenient. Don't even have a good reason against them, just don't like the way they break the pretty lines of the bow and the way they make the bow feel. To each his own, I'm going to stick to my Catquiver for now.
I use Great Northerns on mine, they are light enough to not offset the balance of the bow.
For 90% of my hunting I do like a bow quiver. Nice and easy to get an arrow on the string with very little movement. and gives the bow a little more stability.
If it is raining I'll use a cat quiver so as to have dry feathers.
I practice with and without..
IMO
Thunderhorn small fry for me. Good looking, light weight, secure on the bow. For pure function and efficiency you just can't beat a bow quiver. I have used a catquiver, side quiver, back quiver. Always keep coming back to the bow quiver.
I would really like to try a single arrow quiver for my longbow, but have no idea what is available. Not had much luck at all searching.
I modify thunderhon boa's to fit mine!
I like side quivers, especially those like the Safari tuff arrow master.

I love the look of this quiver! What is it called and where could one find it?
Thanks!!!
Personally, I wouldn't use a bow quiver on a 1-pc longbow. I have quiver bushings installed in the risers of my recurves and that seems to work okay for attaching a bow quiver. I just don't like anything touching the limbs.
To each his own ...
Mike

Shedrock, What is the name of that quiver? Any links?
I think Flying Dutchman spoke for me. I use a hip quiver, generally.
There's been a quiver on my longbows since the 80's, mostly a Great Northern. I have an Asbell, but I haven't hunted with it yet. Any quiver is a compromise and for me the bow quiver is by far the best so far.
Two Great Northerns in all those years and I still have both, altho the gripper on the first is getting pretty stiff. Says a lot for the GN's quality.
I used to use the Thunderhorn bow quiver. I have now bought an Arrowmaster back quiver and love it. No more bow quiver for me.
I hunt with an Eagles Flight 4 Arrow Strap On bow quiver, and it is so light, I almost forget its there! Love It!! :readit: :saywhat:
