Ok, this one will test our ability to hit our spot on the first shot. So, no warm up shots this time immediately before you shoot. If you do practice, you have to wait at least 30 minutes before you shoot. If you want to get them all done in one day, try to wait 30 minutes or more between shots. Ideally, if you can, take one shot each morning or evening.
Shot #1 will be from 12 steps, simulating an easy shot from a ground blind. You'll be sitting on a bucket, your hunting chair, a block of wood, etc.
Shot #2 will be from 15 steps. This time you'll be shooting from behind a tree. Stand with a tree, or your car, or something between you and the target. Make sure you have just enough room to clear your bow. Lean to the right ( or left if you're left-handed) and take the shot.
Shot #3 will be from 17 steps. This shot will simulate shooting beneath some overhanging limbs. Shoot bent at the waist, or crouching, with your bow canted.
Shot #4 will be from 20 steps. This one will be from your knees. One or two, your choice.
Good luck.
Interesting...
Looks like it will be fun!
Well, did shot one this morning first thing. Only warm up was a little coffee. Feeling good about sitting in a ground blind this season....
Will take shot two tonight. I like this one looper.
Yeah, I think these types of shots really show if I'm ready for the season to start, at least in the accuracy department. Handling the nerves when the time comes is another thing.
Did the first one this mornining. I like the first arrow from cold idea. The rest are gonna be interesting!
Warm up was the trip to the potty. Shot one was a 10.
Hmm? I wonder if I can make that a pattern?
Matt
Shot #1 was first shot about 3 days. Happy how it go`s.
#2 tomorrow morning before get to work.
Pics and result after #4
I had to use the one shot every 30 minutes method on this one as I'm heading out of town. First shot was a solid 8. I didn't have a tree at 15 paces, so I had to shoot the second shot at 17 paces for a 4. Shots three and four were both 8's. 28 is my total for this week.

I shot my makup for week 7 tonight so put me down for an 18. I like shooting from my knees, but it looks like I need to work on those leaning twisting shots.
I thought I would use a broadhead because thats what I'll be hunting with. I shot 4 sixes for a total of 24.

Week 7 catch up
4,8,miss,4 for a total of 16
Week 8
3 6s and a 4 for a total of 22. I have to drive 20 minutes 1 way to shoot over 14 yards and didnt have time to go there and sit for 2 hours plus drive time over the weekend. Discount my score as you see fit.
First shot is always best phenomenon is working. Last night's no warm up equalled another 10. Line cutter, but a 10.
Currently sitting at a 20
Matt
Got one shot in last night, one this am. Will try for the last two today and post up.
Currently 6 down from Matt.
EDIT:
Got in the last two. THE last kneeling one was a miss to the left so I shot more trying to get it on paper. The Xs are the after shots.

Well two 10's did not equal a pattern. Shot #3 was a 6.

I wrapped it all up tonight in between other tasks. It was almost dark by the time I finished. Three 4's, all high and a good 8 for a 20.
So finished up tonight. I thought this would be an interesting one.
I learned a few things;
1. When I shoot off my knees I shorten my draw and shoot low. Need to work on that.
2. When I cant the bow I need to angle my head as well. Need to work on that.
3. Need to have confidence in the first shot and reach anchor properly. Need to work on that.
So here is the result. A total of 18
Shot 1. A line cutting 8 but I will take it!
Shot 2. A 4 :(
(http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k178/Dogboy900/Bow%20stuff/Fun%20Shoot/Week%208/Week8Shot2.jpg)
Shot 3. A 6
(http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k178/Dogboy900/Bow%20stuff/Fun%20Shoot/Week%208/Shot3.jpg)
Shot 4. A big fat miss :( :(
(http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k178/Dogboy900/Bow%20stuff/Fun%20Shoot/Week%208/Shot4.jpg)
All good stuff, still looking forward to the next one and have learned a few things to practice :)
Finished up this evening, two 6's and two 8's Score of 28.(http://%20 [/IMG]
6 for me.
So, 10, 10, 6, 6 = 32
So it has been a week of catch up for me (as well as needing to buy new plates)...
WK 7 - that was hard, I guess the elk are safe from me.
Score: 6
(http://i1073.photobucket.com/albums/w398/Meilaq/WK7.jpg)
WK 8 - started well but kneeling, bending and crouching don't do my anchor point and aiming any favours.
WK8 Score: 22
Like my mate Dogboy says, "I've learnt a few things..." Ditto to his ones, plus I need to be more sneaky, as I really shouldn't take the shot outside of 12 yards.
WK8-1
(http://i1073.photobucket.com/albums/w398/Meilaq/WK8-1.jpg)
WK8-2

WK8-3

Week 8 is 14 for me I'm getting worse instead of better.
I was able to get this done today taking shots between items on the Honey-do list. Did a lot better than I thought I would. Shot 2 was from behind a tree on the edge of the lawn.
Total was...32 points

Nice shooting and art
That's what's wrong with my shooting, no cool art!
Love those targets! I'll take a few... That's the biggest thing I procrastinate every week, drawing up a simple target.
Finally got the last arrow in this morning
2 8's
1 6 that barely missed another 8
1 4. Shot that one on the way to work today Mental game was gone. I've noticed that a cold shot only struggles for me mentally. If I take a second to get my brain in the right place I do good. If not, the arrow wanders with the mind.
26 ttl.
go ahead and put it up, ive got too much stuff to do, ill make it up this week

This is what i have. If the ones that only have 3 weeks in don"t catch up this week I"ll probably delete them and try to fit on one page.
Good deal, since we are running late.
Misfire can you get week 9 going soon.
Thanks, Ron
Sure thing. I'll get something posted up tomorrow.
Week 9 shoot started.
Please post any make up scores on wk 9
Here is my Week 8 Target. 22 points, could always do better but was pretty pleased with Myself. The Under Shot, I shot through my Raised Porch Swing!! It has a Swingset all its own, so with some help, I hiked that Bad Boy up and shot under it! Had a Great Time too! LOTS O' Laughs with some of those!! Life IS Good!! (http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b66/arrowmaker62/TradGang%20Fun%20Shoot%20June%20-%20July%202012/Week8_22Points.jpg)
